Arrangements is part of a new series of work questioning the Anthropocene envisioning the sense of the Sublime and the primordial genesis of form.

The glass, fused onto casts of lava moulds created on the island of Vulcano, captures matter in a moment of transformation, always in potential, on the verge of becoming.

​

Reflecting the Sublime in the context of today's world, Arrangements offers an homage to the theme of the volcano: a symbol of the origin of all things, a place where matter reveals its power, its constant mutations and freezing in time. As an outstanding manifestation of ‘the horrific pleasure, this place confronts us not only the vastness and fury of Nature, but its intriguing resolution, bringing us back to our real human condition of mortal finiteness.

In this work, nature and human processes intertwine, not only as a tribute to genesis, but as a metaphor for the infinite potential of matter : the endless, ever-shifting metamorphosis of existence.

Arrangements has been part of Fluid Matter- Humanature exhibition curated by Mollified Collective in Venice and successively invited to be part of Venice Design Biennial programme by Francesca Giubilei and Luca Berta.
